Project Problem
The 168 unit Hunters Pointe project was developed to satisfy the affordable housing requirement of the La Costa Master Planned Community in Carlsbad, California. The problem presented by the project was that the site proposed for the project was large, irregular in shape and consisted of very poor, rocky soil and severe topography.

Chelsea’s Solution
Chelsea commissioned a project design that was sensitive to and compatible with the challenging site. The units are located on building pads located throughout the site in order to minimize grading and optimize views of the surrounding foothills. One of the residential buildings is constructed atop a structural parking facility so that parking is convenient for each unit in the project. Community amenities such as laundry facilities and recreational amenities are located throughout the 17 acre site so that all residents enjoy the benefits of a project community lifestyle. Not withstanding the design and construction challenges, the project was constructed on time and under budget by Chelsea's construction company affiliate.
